SIXTEEN PIZZAS PROJECT

The Sixteen Pizzas project was the spark that made this blog a reality. In Spring 2016, I returned to Massachusetts after two months abroad. Renewed by my solo travels, I wanted to sink my teeth into a summer project, something that would test me while being fun and allowing for some creativity outside the artist's studio. One unremarkable afternoon in Brooklyn, I stopped for pizza with my sister. I do not know what cosmic alignment occurred at that moment, or if it was just the aroma of a good, New York slice, but this is when the idea struck.

I grew up with homemade pizza. My family stuck with a simple margherita of Roma tomatoes and mozzarella. There was no reason to change it, because it was impossible to mess up. I decided it was time to pursue variations on a thing I know well. Or at least, something I think I know.
